The Choice of The Size of the Wooden Pallet
The choice of the size of the wooden pallet first considers the specifications and dimensions of the transportation tools and transportation equipment. The appropriate size of the wooden pallet should just meet the size of the transportation tool, which can improve the full and reasonable utilization of the transportation tool space and save transportation costs, especially considering the size of the container and transportation truck. Secondly, consider the size of the warehouse and the size of the cargo compartment; choose the appropriate size of the wooden pallet according to the packaging specifications of the wooden pallet to load the goods, and maximize the use of the surface area of the pallet. At the same time, the flow direction of the pallets loaded with goods will directly affect the choice of the size of the wooden pallets.
There are three main types of wooden pallet sizes in the world:
1. North American pallet standard:
The wooden pallet used in the United States is the 4840 standard, that is, 48 inches (about 122cm) in length and 40 inches (about 102cm) in width. The height is not necessarily the same. Take Chibo, the largest pallet provider in the United States, as an example. The standard height of its wooden pallet is 5.56 inches (about 14cm). Trays with a size of 1220*1160 cm are commonly used in North America.
2. European pallet standard:
Trays with dimensions of 800x1200 and 1000x1200 mm are commonly used in Europe. European Pallet Standard European Pallet Association and European Standard Pallet (European Standard Pallet)
3. Asian pallet standard:
Trays with a size of 1100x1100 mm are commonly used in Asia. In Asia, pallet manufacturers mostly produce according to the customer's predetermined size, without any standard restrictions.
A tray commonly used in Japan has a size of 1100x1100 mm. China's pallet standards have been revised many times, and many standards are in a chaotic situation. At present, the latest national standard has finally determined two pallet specifications, 1200mm, 1000mm and 1100mm, and 1100mm. The pallet with a size of 1100x1100 mm is suitable for a 45-inch (1143 mm) shipping container. .
